soup is always greener

there's a grocery store that's a chain of two stores, one in asheville and one 4 hours away in chattanooga tennessee, both publish their soups du jour online in a different tab of the same website so it is easy to compare the two every day.

the other place's soups always sound so much better.

compare -

Greenlife Chattanooga:

  • Parmesan Artichoke Chicken
  • Mushroom Kale Soup
  • Tofu with Lemongrass
  • Shellfish Pesto
  • Chipotle Chicken Chili
  • Parsnip Tomato
  • Roasted Red Pepper with Spinach and Cheddar

vs.

Greenlife Asheville:

  • Vegan Asian Peanut
  • Smoky Corn Chowder
  • Vegan Split Pea
  • Chicken Noodle
  • Creamy Tomato
  • Spicy Dal

no contest, right?

great idea kid d. i'm going to write a letter. i hate to whine about soup to the crunchy hippy yuppie grocery store, but chattanooga's sound so much better.

hello! i love your store, i shop there several times a week, you have wonderful produce & friendly staff & it's all beautiful & well-laid-out. i have one small gripe - your soup selection, compared to the soup selection at Greenlife Chattanooga, is very weak. since you update both soup lists daily online it is easy to compare...and the Chattanooga ones always sound so much more creative and tasty! i must say that your Minestrone (in asheville) is the best soup i have ever had - it is so full of chunks of fresh spicy vegetables it's almost unbelievable. i was hoping you could do a recipe swap with the people in Chattanooga though so we could try some of the interesting and i'm sure delicious soups you're making over there too! i'm sorry if this is stupid, it's just pretty obvious that the soup list in chattanooga is far superior to that of asheville, not that asheville's is bad, it's just not as creative. thanks for your time & keep up the good work!

Hi Heather,

This is a great request. We are blessed with talented chefs, both in Asheville and Chattanooga! I will discuss this with our Food service Director and work toward trading some recipes between the two stores. We appreciate your love for good, exciting, and creative food and will do our best to meet your desire with as much love, excitement, and creativity!

Thanks again,
